DIRECTOR, RESIDENTIAL SERVICES | University of Pennsylvania

Qualified candidates will possess a master’s degree in higher education or related field, a minimum of seven to ten years of progressive responsibilities in college and university housing management and administration, demonstrated knowledge of organizational, managerial, budgetary, and financial management skills, successful experience in the use of technology to provide and receive services, familiarity with student housing management systems, particularly StarRez, an ability to interpret, analyze, and evaluate complex maintenance, budget planning, and property management issues, excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated leadership and strategic planning skills, and experience leading and supervising a diverse group of both professional and student employees.

Additionally, candidates should bring the following characteristics: strong vision and leadership skills at both building partnerships and managing politics, a desire to influence strategic change, a high comfort level managing a large business enterprise with multiple revenue streams, an ability to see the “bigger picture,” a methodology that is progressive, entrepreneurial, and creative, and a willingness to take reasoned risks in moving the department in new directions, demonstrated ability to analyze, evaluate, and problem-solve, comprehensive experience with building effective teams, a general understanding of resource centered management and its influence upon resource allocation.
