The Chicago Literacy Alliance is an association of more than 130 organizations helping to meet literacy needs for people of all ages and backgrounds. From learning to read to loving to read, our members serve to create a more literate Chicago across the full spectrum of educational experience. Our beautiful West Loop home, the 50,000 sq.ft. Literacenter, is the country’s first ever coworking space dedicated to literacy.

About the Position:

The Technology Coordinator serves as a key member of the Community and Operations team by supporting the ultimate goal of a fun, functional and intuitive Literacenter. Reporting to and working with the Managing Director, the Technology Coordinator will support Literacenter technology, internal CLA team technology needs and offer IT & meeting technology support for member needs at the Literacenter.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • CLA Members & Literacenter Technology: 40%
    • Provide exemplary customer support for CLA members, partners and guests in the Literacenter
    • Ensure CLA meeting room technology is in peak operational condition at all times
    • Identify opportunities for operational and technology improvements in the Literacenter
    • Develop processes and communications to increase user friendliness of CLA technology for members
  • CLA Team Support: 40%
    • Support fellow CLA team members with internal IT and technology needs
    • Support Managing Director with maintenance and improvement of CLA software systems
    • Support Community team with Welcome Desk & after-hours event coverage as needed
    • Act as primary CLA contact for technology service providers (IT, copier, security, etc.)
    • Maintain inventory of all CLA owned technology
  • Special Events and Projects: 20%
    • Support Managing Director with live event technology needs for all CLA events
    • Support special projects as needed
