Fred Prassas

Fred Prassas is the Program Director for the Real Estate Property Management program at University of Wisconsin-Stout.  He also serves as the Advisor to the UW Stout Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) Student Club, a national model for student organizations fostering university and real estate industry relationships.

Fred brings over 40 years experience in the real estate and real estate property management industry to UW Stout’s Real Estate Property Management program.  His career has included apartment and condominium management, development of apartment communities and residential subdivisions, facilities management, receiverships, residential sales, consultation and training.

He has taught many property management credentialing programs for a variety of professional organizations, both in the US and internationally, for over 20 years. He is the Author of Investment Real Estate:  Finance and Asset Management, published by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).  All four universities offering a specialized degree in property management have adopted this book.

In addition to his instructional history, Fred has made leadership visits to IREM chapters worldwide and conducted formal presentations to industry and government bodies in Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Germany, Eastern Europe and Russia. He researched and negotiated a Memorandum of Understanding and joint degree program with Namseoul University in Korea.

Fred holds a Master of Business Administration from University of Wisconsin, La Crosse and a  Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois.  He also holds the Certified Property Manager (CPM) and Graduate REALTORS Institute (GRI) professional designations, as well as a real estate broker license.  Fred remains the principal of PMC Management Group and its predecessor entities in La Crosse, Wisconsin.  PMC Management Group focuses on multi family real estate management, consultation, litigation support and association planning.
