Wrapping up the theme of safety and risk management, this week I reviewed the incident reporting process and attended a risk management meeting. The process of creating an incident report is normally a drop everything situation that requires all your attention. The process of remediation after an incident can often be a complicated and drawn-out situation, so it is important to follow procedure and do so quickly. Along with that, in the risk management meeting I attended, we discussed insurance and the importance of obtaining COIs from vendors that are compliant with our standards before they begin working on site.

              This week, I also had the opportunity to go through the lease for one of our skyway tenants to practice creating a lease abstract. I learned a lot about the abstracting process and about how various ownerships prefer you to put different lease items on the abstract. I learned so much at this rotation, and I am excited to begin my time at a new property next week!
