With work wrapping up on the water main break, things began to grow quieter in the office this week. Since the proper emergency response protocol was followed, and completed, we had some time to look at other tasks that needed to be completed. This week was my last week with a focus on accounting. To wrap up this time, I reviewed a quarterly investment report, research report on the office market, and the budget. Learning more about these various documents helped me to gain a much better understanding on the accounting process.
In addition to learning more about various financial reports, I worked on a fire extinguisher project. To do this, I walked through two of the buildings in this portfolio, and double checked the location of the fire extinguishers and I also double checked that they were mounted on the wall. After that, I updated floor plans and spreadsheets on their locations. This was my last week downtown for a while. Next week I will be heading out to the suburbs to begin my rotation in industrial property management!
