Since about a year ago, the town of Lac Du Flambeau has been dealing with easement issues with the tribe of Lac Du Flambeau for many reasons. When these “easements” were built around fifty years ago, they had expiration dates which were never recorded by the town, as these roads go through tribal land. After decades, these easements essentially became roads but now people are having legal trouble getting insured access to get to their homes. I have included a link above detailing it further, but we have had some issues this summer getting title companies to insure certain properties on these easements or other roads that are set to expire soon as well.
