During the 4th week of my internship, I learned the beginning steps of the budgeting process. This involved contacting vendors, reviewing rent rolls, and using software like Microsoft Excel and Yardi. Upon reviewing our listed vendors in MRI Angus, we decided to audit our COIs for each vendor which opened another project. This also came at an awkward time when I was required to work at one of our properties which helped me understand some of the multi-tasking involved with property management.
