Today at Bigos the interns had the pleasure of shadowing around a member at the corporate office. I was assigned to a Portfolio director who oversees a collective group of properties and makes sure that they are financially sound and performing well. It was interesting to see what he has to do on a day to day basis and to hear from someone with his experience to find out what it takes to be successful in this industry was really cool. My portfolio director was very nice and down to earth and seemed to realize that this industry is really a people oriented business. I certainly could see myself one day working as a portfolio director, it seemed like a very interesting and rewarding job.
