This week at my internship I learned a lot. I learned all the steps necessary to give potential residents a tour of the model unit and of the amenities. I am very confident now with giving these tours by myself. I am also pretty confident with answering the phones and people’s questions. I was taught how to handle concerns from residents and I am also confident in doing so. I also learned how to process applications from prospective residents. I even created an Excel spreadsheet that calculates the income of the prospect to see if they qualify to rent with us. I learned how to conduct the Identification Verification with TransUnion as well. I learned how to create and send welcome letters to residents who have been approved and how to provide them with the next steps. This week I also set up the pre-inspection walk-throughs with tenants who will be moving out. I have been working a lot with the leasing specialist who has been teaching me a lot about daily operations. We had an event for our residents where we had vendors come with their food trucks to offer tacos and funnel cakes, which was cool. I also got my own business cards this week which I love! I have learned a lot so far, and I look forward to learning even more this week!
