My first week at JLL has been packed to the brim with learning as much as possible about the operation of the RBC Gateway high rise in Minneapolis, MN. This building is class A and the office portion that I am working in opened in February of 2022. In addition to the office space in this building, there is a Four Seasons Hotel (the only five-star hotel in Minnesota), and Condos.
Most of my time was spent touring the property in the beginning of the week. I began with touring the common areas and amenities, offices, hotel rooms, and a condo. Then, I went on a tour with the engineering department. On this tour, I got to look some of the behind the scenes of running such a large building. Getting a chance to tour the back of the house operations was a great way to get to know the building better. I also went on a tour to review the safety and security of the building, and the parking garage.
On top of the time that I spent touring the property, I also had the opportunity to learn how invoices are received and coded, and how the accountant for the property is connected in all of it. My time here at the RBC Gateway is flying by, and I’m shocked by how much I’ve learned already. I just have one more week here before I move to another property downtown to continue learning more about commercial property management with JLL!
