In this Industry it is very important to be as knowledgeable as possible about your comps and other properties within your company! Comps are a great way to know whether to raise or lower rent rates, and to see what other properties are offering that differentiate them from you! Knowing what your sister properties offer is a great way to keep residents and potential residents within the company depending on their specific needs. We had the opportunity as interns to “shop” other properties near us and see what they offer. For one of our learning group meetings we went to another Bigos property that was going through a remodel and got to see what that process looks like and what kind of steps are taken to decide where to build.
