As an interning leasing agent we are allowed to receive Commission on apartments we rent to people. At my previous property I had leased an apartment to somebody during my last week there and just received notice that I will be receiving commission for what I did. It’s a great feeling because I’ve never worked in an industry that had commission. It’s amazing the amount of money a full time leaser could make because on top of their hourly salary they are able to earn commission on people they get to lease apartments. So basically they are earning money for doing their job as well as earning more money for doing their job well. It’s an amazing system that could possibly lead me to becoming a full time leaser because that looks like a win win situation for most full time leasers. So exciting to get an extra reward to award me for my hard work as a leasing agent!
