Every morning one of the first things I do is see who and how many people are moving into the community that day. Then I go to each of those units and perform a walkthrough. This walk through is designed to see what is previously damaged in an apartment so we don’t charge the future tenants for it when they move out. First, I make my own lists of what I notice; then when the tenants arrive I walk through the unit with them as well. I think this makes the tenant feel as though we are looking out for them. We also leave a Weidner welcome home bag filled with cookies, dog bags, coffee mugs, and other fun items. Weidner does a great job making their tenants feel at home in their community and not a part of a business.
