I am one of the interns working Tuesday through Saturday so on the weekends, we are able to do a few different things than the regular operations. So, today I went with a coworker from a sister property to “shop” other Weidner properties. Basically, shopping just means we go to the other properties and we pretend to be future prospects looking for a place to live. I wasn’t a huge fan at first, because I feel like it’s deceitful, but then Audrey, the girl I was working with explained the benefit for Weidner, the employees, and myself and that it is just a learning experience for everyone. It was neat to see the variety of properties in Alaska. There are over 40 Weidner properties in Alaska and it’s actually where Mr. Weidner bought his first property!
