Today we had an interesting experience with a resident. We had a work order in which we needed to go into this person’s apartment and upon arriving the tenant was unaware of any work order requests. When the maintenance person went through the apartment he found some paraphernalia and complained of odors. A little later we had the tenant come in who seemed very upset we were in their apartment when they didn’t think they had a work request in. We told them about the things the maintenance crew saw and to that they replied “those are tobacco related products”. Which we know isn’t true. We aren’t going to evict these people based on this offense alone but if any other complaints come in about these people we will have to take action. It’s interesting to see how we’re supposed to handle these tenant interactions when we know that the resident isn’t giving us the entire truth.
