This week for internship duties I was assigned the task to review and update DOTs, Medical Cards, and COIs. I reviewed all paperwork for every truck in the fleet to assure all DOT annual vehicle inspection reports were up to date, complete, and a copy of the form in each truck and office file. Then I had to reference each vehicle to the insurance coverage list. I was also updated on the process of requesting Certificate of Insurance forms to submit to our property managers to have on file for timely job payments. Finally, I reviewed the current files to assure that all employee drivers have an updated and current Medical Card. A copy of each employee Medical Card must be in each fleet vehicle, and a copy in the office file. Then, I had to reference each driver to the insurance coverage list. Any discrepancies had to be updated and reported to the insurance company.
