All across the region, Weidner increased rents this week anywhere from $150-$200 causing traffic to decrease drastically as our 1×1 units are going for about $1,350 and our 2×1 units are going for about $1,450. Of those who do contact us about half won’t even income qualify to rent as they need to make 3X monthly rent. A majority of the people who are contacting us to lease are on Alaska housing vouchers (section 8) and Alaska housing hasn’t increased their voucher amount in 2-3 years causing most prospects to not qualify. with those two factors at play, we only leased one apartment this week as a team.
